Smt. Anuradha Renganathan began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 4, under the tutelage of Smt. Madhavi Chandrasekar (Alumni of Kalakshetra & Dr. Padma Subramaniyam). She did her advanced level training at KALAKSHETRA, Chennai under the able guidance of pioneers such as Smt. Pushpa Shankar, Prof. A. Janardhanan, Smt. Krishnaveni Lakshmanan, Smt. Vijayalakshmi Krishnaswamy, Shri Sheejith Krishna, and Shri Mohanan. She also learnt Nattuvangam (rendering dance cymbals) from Smt. Kamalarani, who was the first female Nattuvanar, & Shri Sheejith Krishna at Kalakshetra.
After receiving her Post graduation diploma in Bharatanatyam, she performed all over India and Sri Lanka for numerous dance festivals. Anu aunty has worked as an assistant at Alarmel Valli's Institute "Dipaksha" for 6 months as well as tutored the diploma & post diploma Bharatanatyam students of Kalakshetra. Eventually she moved to New Jersey where, after marriage, she started Bharata Kalakshetra School of Fine Arts in 2006.
Guru. Smt. Akila Subramanyam hails from Vriddachalam, a town near Chidambaram and learned dance from renowned Guru. Panchavaranam, a disciple of Bharathanatyam prodigy Smt. Balasaraswathy. She started her career in Bharathnatyam as a dancer and has performed in several acclaimed stages in india and as well as in USA. She established Salangai arts dance school in Virginia 2 decades back and has been training a large number of students. Her unique choreography has been well applauded by many dance artists. She is one of the highly sought out Gurus for her intense training without changing the purity of this art form. She has done multiple dance productions in Cleveland Aradhana festivals and fundraisers.
Over the years she has brought several dance gurus and dance exponents from India in order to further enhance the knowledge and skills of her students
Padma Ravikumar is an arts community organizer and curator at the ACME Foundation in Seattle, where she advances Indian classical arts and community programs. Trained in Bharatanatyam in Chennai, she continues to engage deeply with the art form, shaping initiatives that support emerging dancers and connect diverse audiences with Indian classical arts.
Her work centers on curating accessible, engaging experiences that highlight the richness of Bharatanatyam while fostering learning, visibility, and community involvement. Drawing on her background in research, design, and human-centered approaches, she develops programs that help artists thrive and enable audiences to experience Indian classical arts in meaningful ways
Sushmita Arunkumar’s love for Bharatanatyam began during her childhood in India. A devout performer, meticulously trained under the watchful eyes of Guru Padmashri Adyar K. Lakshman, Sushmita’s talent for Bharatanatyam has won her several accolades.
Sushmita is a quintessential artist, gifted in transforming herself into the characters she portrays. She has performed widely in both India and the United States. She reveived the Award of Excellence in the Arts by the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago, Lemont, IL, presented by Dr. Karan Singh (former MP Rajya Sabha). Award of Appreciation for contribution to Bharatanatyam in Annmayya Tathwa Pracharam during the XVth Annamacharya Aradhana Utsavam by Sri Annamaacharya Project of North America. Award of Recognition by the Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple, Aurora, IL, for her performance in the Maha Samprokshanam - Maha Kumbhabhishekam of the temple. Balasaraswathi Award by Krishna Gana Sabha in 1995. A selection by the Tamil Nadu Government for their sponsored programs in the state during 1993 -1994.
Chitra Ramaswamy was introduced to classical dance at the age of nine and began her education in the Kalakshetra style under the able guidance of her Guru Padmashree Adyar.K.Laksmanan of Chennai. She trains under Kalaimamani Jayanthi Subramaniam and mentored by Kalaimamani Priyadarsini Govind and Shri Shijith Nambiar
She has toured various places in India for performances including Solo and dance dramas. Chitra pursued dance avidly even as she was earning a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in BITS, Pilani. Chitra has played leading parts in the dance dramas staged by other dance companies like Nrithyanjali Institute of Dance, Bharatha Choodamani, Padmni Institute of Dance. Chitra instituted “Sanskriti School Of Dance “in New Jersey in 2005. The school offers programs in Bharatanatyam with the aim of spreading the richness and grandeur of this art form and yet retaining its pureness and tradition. She also plans to inculcate the precious art to various young students as devotedly and diligently as her Gurus.

The company was founded in 2005 and is based in New Jersey. Sanskriti perpetuates India’s cultural heritage by teaching and performing Bharatanatyam.
