Age & Dance Form
Applicants must be Bharatanatyam dancers between 20 and 32 years.
Open to dancers with formal training or substantial performance experience in Bharatanatyam.
Venue & Performance Readiness
Applicants should be open to performing in intimate and unconventional spaces (e.g., heritage sites, studios, courtyards, non-traditional venues).
Must be comfortable adapting choreography and presence to non-traditional settings without stage infrastructure.
Audience Engagement
Artists must be willing to engage in dialogue with audiences before, during, and after the performance.
Demonstrated openness to feedback and conversation is essential as part of the artistic experience.
Mentorship & Reflection
A resource person will be allocated to each dancer to help crystallize ideas, choreography, and vision.
Dancers must be willing to spend time with the mentor for reflection and refinement, including rehearsal discussions and creative brainstorming.
Commitment & Availability
Applicants must be able to commit time for preparation, rehearsals, and performances as per the initiative’s schedule.
Flexibility, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
Originality & Vision
Dancers should demonstrate a distinct artistic voice and curiosity, open to experimenting with space, audience interaction, and unconventional presentation.
Willingness to document or articulate the creative process (through notes, videos, or discussions) is encouraged.
Professional Conduct
Maintain professionalism in rehearsal, performance, and interactions with mentors, organizers, and audiences.
Respect the space and cultural sensitivities of unconventional venues.
